I was thinking today about how the name of this site came to be. A name tells us a lot about something, even if we can’t quite put our finger on it. It declares someone or something’s identity, even if it’s not immediately clear what that identity is.

Back in 2020 when the world simultaneously exploded and came to a halt, I started a blog with my best friend. The purpose was to share testimonies of God’s faithfulness, healing, power, etc. As the world came back up to speed, we felt tugs from the Lord in different directions. These were healthy tugs and fruitful conversations. (Spoiler alert: She’s still my best friend. We just hung out last week.) I wanted a space where I could talk about the deep healing I’d experienced through inner healing, art, crafting, and working with counseling professionals. I also wanted a space where I could showcase and potentially sell some of that artwork and handcrafted items. I also wanted a space to offer one-on-one inner healing sessions. The remaining question: What would I call this new space?

As I prayed, I was reminded of The Message translation of Matthew 11:28-30. It says, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to Me. Get away with Me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with Me and work with Me – watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with Me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

“Learn the unforced rhythms of grace…” A simple phrase, packed with so much meaning for me. I remembered that the greatest healing in my life has never been forced. It’s come as I’ve walked side-by-side with Father God, allowing Him to dismantle lies, judgments, and inner vows. It’s come as I’ve sat at my desk and allowed watercolor paint to move freely around a canvas, anticipating the beautiful shapes and shades it will eventually dry into. It’s come as I’ve sat with yarn and crochet hook, weaving until a project takes shape into a small keychain or a large blanket.

Those moments of painting and crocheting allow my brain to slow down so my heart can hear His voice, His truth, His heart. Jesus has woven me back together through His grace. (And yes, His love, healing, kindness, all the good stuff.)

In the past six years, I have also been training in two methods of inner healing: Sozo and Elijah House Heart Healing. Both are amazing and work well for different reasons. I love them both because they are Spirit-led and also simple. If inner healing isn’t Spirit-led, I don’t want it. As I have practiced both, I’ve seen God move mightily. I’m excited to offer booking for those sessions here on this site. All sessions will be virtual.

If you also want to learn His “unforced rhythms of grace”, I encourage you to follow along here.
